Comparing Actual and Designed Water Demand in Australian Multilevel Residential Buildings

چکیده

There is now evidence that many long-standing international plumbing codes significantly overestimate the peak water demand in multilevel residential buildings. The overestimation of this design value may have adverse effects on construction cost, energy consumption, quality, and safe operation. This research aims to assess performance current Australian New Zealand cold standard for A literature review was conducted development estimation models. practice compared against selected some newly proposed approaches using a fixed apartment layout as benchmark. Following this, paper compares actual four buildings with designed (99th percentile flow) from codes. Results show adjusted 99th flow rates (adjusted raw measurements count impact sampling interval) are only 23%–28% nominal values standard. None standards considered can be readily applied Research needs identified, including interval, practical definition flow, implications reduced pipe sizes, other limitations system practices. serves an informative reference researchers, industry, regulatory bodies working improving their existing standards.

Modeling Housing Demand for New Residential Buildings in Urban Areas

T his study investigates the factors affecting the demand for new residential buildings in urban areas of Iran during 1976-2010. The demand function for new residential buildings in urban areas was estimated and then the existence of a long-run relationship among variables of this function was studied using the Bounds testing of the Autoregressive Distributed Lag Co-integration procedure. The t...

Demand Response and Energy Storage for Zero Energy Residential Buildings

The EU climate and energy targets and the decreasing costs have been leading to a growing utilization of solar photovoltaic generation in residential buildings. However, even in buildings with the same level of yearly generation and consumption the mismatch between the demand and the photovoltaic generation profiles leads to high power flows between the household and the grid, which is an ineff...

Data - Driven Baseline Estimation of Residential Buildings for Demand Response †

The advent of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) generates a large volume of data related with energy service. This paper exploits data mining approach for customer baseline load (CBL) estimation in demand response (DR) management. CBL plays a significant role in measurement and verification process, which quantifies the amount of demand reduction and authenticates the performance. The prop...

Energy Consumption Modeling in Residential Buildings

In recent years, the issue of energy consumption modeling techniques in the building sector has been widely considered by researchers and managers. Researches indicate that energy consumption in residential sector is one of the main parts of the total consumption. Moreover, the urban residence is supposed as a significant consumer of energy in every country and therefore a focus for energy cons...
